JOB SUMMARY:

To interview, receive first and second mortgage loan applications, prepare documents, make sure that the loans are processed within Credit Union policies, and provide general credit union information to members.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts loan interviews and obtains previous credit history of member, as well as other pertinent data that could be used for present and future loan evaluations.
  • Determines collateral values and member’s desired payment plan.
  • Processes applications of a complex nature.  Consults with supervision on loans that are considered a risk in accordance with loan guidelines.
  • Discusses loan alternatives, credit criteria, interest rates, and loan documentation.
  • Consults with supervision on pricing of first mortgages, to insure loan is within desired price range.
  • Works with loan officers on second mortgages, and third-party mortgage processors, realtors and members on first mortgages.
  • Processes loans in a timely and efficient manner to insure closing is on time.
  • Performs other related duties as required.EDUCATION:
    High school education or equivalent with knowledge of credit union/banking terms and procedures. Must have a thorough knowledge of lending rules and regulations, such as Truth in Lending, the Equal Credit Opportunity Act and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

    EXPERIENCE:
    Minimum one year loan processing or related experience in a financial institution with 1st mortgage processing experience preferred. Must have good communication and customer service skills.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Credit Collections role is responsible for all the reviews and identifications of members that are past due on their loan obligations with the Credit Union. They will Initiate regular outbound calls on delinquent loans and engage with members while offering solutions and getting firm commitments to bring loans current. The role will focus on helping our members through difficult stages and situations, while showing empathy and proactive program solving solutions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Initiate collection activities including repossession, reconditioning, and sale of assets of the Credit Union
  • Maintain the values and service standards of the Credit Union
  • Initiate regular outbound calls on delinquent loans
  • Consistently and accurately document all communications with our members pertaining to accounts
  • Recognize the reason for delinquency and get payment promises while maintaining strong member relations.
  • Respond to customer questions, resolve issues, set up fund transfers, change payment frequency and maintain member loans
  • Read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures to all collection activities
  • Responsible for handling all aspects of repossessions, from assigning, preparing notices of sale and deficiency balance letters, title processing, preparing for sale, arranging repairs and detailing of assets, working repossession related insurance claims

 

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

  • High School education or equivalent.
  • Requires a minimum of six months experience in a financial institution
  • Direct experience in collections is preferred but not required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Telephone etiquette
  • Previous experience in customer service, sales, collections, or a related role preferred
  • Must be able to multi-task on a daily basis
  • Must be able to work autonomously while contributing to team initiatives
  • Professional level communication both written & verbal combined with excellent interpersonal skills.
